Those first moments, days, and even weeks are fleeting and baby is changing so quickly as their features really start to develop. Wrinkles fade, hair grows/falls out/grows again, flaky skin disappears, and their little eyes begin to open to the wonder of the world. It’s in those moments, when parents are just getting to know their new arrival, and siblings see each other for the first time that love radiates the entire room. It’s so easy to forget all those little details in the whirlwind of a growing family, but photographs of that time preserve every perfect feeling and emotion. Four Jays Photography specializes in documenting these beautiful moments around 24-48 hours after the arrival of your new baby. These Fresh 48 sessions take place in the comfort of your birth location (hospital, birth center, home, etc) in the Portland Metro / surrounding cites. All family members are welcome, this includes siblings and extended family.

"Danielle beautifully captured our son's hospital birth in a Fresh 48 session. Her images are gorgeous -- although I delivered on a dark, rainy day, she managed to light up the hospital room with warmth and make the surroundings look cozy and inviting. I couldn't believe how beautifully she captured our family of four just 12 hours after my delivery! Although we were all tired and disheveled, the main thing that comes through in the photos is the pure joy we felt at meeting our new family member. But the MOST important thing to me about working with Danielle was her personality -- we are a private family, and I was a little nervous about having a photographer in the room so soon after giving birth. But Danielle's presence was completely unobtrusive and even calming. She has a wonderful way with kids, and even my shy daughter hammed it up for the camera. Danielle's experience as a mom shows, as she is comfortable handling even the tiniest of newborns, and I felt totally at ease letting her hold and document my son.
